Changing for the better: Eduardo's story of growth, support, and great office snacks
Eduardo never saw himself getting into iGaming, but when a recruiter reached out, the prospect of working for a company like Bally's excited him. And it's become more than he could've asked for. From being intimidated when he first joined to feeling incredibly welcomed by everyone, Bally's has exceeded his expectations.
In 2022, Eduardo joined Bally's as a Sports Project Manager. Less than a few years later, he joined the North America iGaming team and was promoted to Senior Project Manager. This promotion provided the ability to continue his development, opening up new experiences and learning opportunities.
Eduardo has embraced ownership across a range of projects, and it shows. He's gotten his hands dirty, been genuinely challenged, and found the kind of career growth he's always looked for. Heading into his first interview, he knew he wanted a role with no ceiling, and that's exactly what he found. He's taken on increasingly complex projects, built relationships with colleagues around the world, and grown in ways that matter to him. Simply put, he's exactly where he wants to be.
Prioritizing work and life at Bally's
It's not just the work that has kept Eduardo at Bally's. The combination of the people on his team and the flexibility he's been given has been incredibly important to him and his career.
Eduardo also values the flexibility that comes with his role. Being able to work in a way that fits his life while still having the option to connect with his team in person strikes the right balance, and that kind of setup is something he finds extremely valuable. And when he does head into the Toronto office, the perks don't hurt either. Think great snacks, pool, darts, and pinball. A few small touches that go a long way.
This way of working has allowed Eduardo to form great connections with his team. Whether that's collaborating on a project or celebrating the wins together. "Being able to be social, make new connections and get to know people in an out-of-work settings has been really exciting. We always have a big get-together in the office when launches happen where everyone gets to come in and celebrate the great work we've been doing."
Finding the support to be his best
As well as his love for his team and the flexible culture, Eduardo also knows he'll be supported through any challenges that come his way. His current boss, John, has been "the most supportive person" during his time at Bally's. Whether it's advice on how to improve or feedback on when he's done a great job, Eduardo credits this relationship as a reason for why he's stayed as long as he has.
"That relationship has been one of the foundational aspects of how and why I've been so successful at Bally's. When I think about our values, the support John has given me and how welcoming and friendly he's been always comes to mind."
Moving up and up and up
With Eduardo's passion for new projects and love for tackling challenges head-on, he's excited for the future at Bally's. After his promotion to Senior Project Manager, getting bigger projects is daunting, but it allows him to continue towards his goal of eventually becoming a Program Manager and getting more challenging things on his plate.
"I see myself staying at Bally's. I love the people here, my boss is super supportive, I'm being challenged and getting put outside of my comfort zone. I'm excited for the future here."
