Making a difference across Bally's and the wider community
Monica is someone who is always striving for better. Whether that's improving operations at Bally's, finding new ways to help her community flourish, supporting her team to grow, or continuing to evolve personally and professionally. Monica prides herself on getting involved and using the support and platform Bally's provides to create meaningful impact.
Monica joined the Bally's team in 2022 as Director of Marketing after being in gaming for over 20 years. She moved to Chicago to oversee our new Bally's Chicago project and now sits as VP of Community Engagement.
Proving that Bally's is more than meets the eye
Bally's may be all about living to entertain, but that also includes giving back. In her role, Monica has been empowered to build meaningful connections, champion important causes, and find purposeful ways to support and uplift the communities Bally's serves.
She's helping to create a team who are deeply engaged in business and community partnerships, charity events, sponsorships, and educational sessions. Monica is helping Chicago experience firsthand how Bally's not only supports the industry-specific cause of responsible gaming, but also the awareness and reduction of important community concerns like human trafficking, homelessness, food insecurities and so much more.
It's this kind of work that makes Monica proud to be part of the Bally's team and understand how important her work is. "This is the best job I've ever had; I love every element about it. I have the opportunity here to make a difference."
Representing Chicago and seeing the possible in the impossible
As well as the community and charity work, Monica loves how Bally's is proud to represent the people in the cities they reside in. After all, it's the people who allow Bally's to do what we do. "Whether it's diversity of color, diversity of gender, we are everything that Chicago is. It's important to me to show our team members and customers that we are from every area, every demographic, and every background."
But it's not just the people of Chicago that Monica helps influence. She's also there to help improve Bally's from within - developing partnerships for upcoming workforce needs, sharing supply opportunities with local and diverse vendors, and helping shape the growth of the Bally's property itself.
Seeing this process of progress is something she's incredibly grateful for. From the foundational work to "beams out the ground" to a fully-fledged property, Monica gets to be part of a team literally bringing entertainment to her city, and she can't wait to see what the future will hold. "Improving individually, improving enterprise-wide, and improving the community with charitable giving. It's a pretty great job, right?"
The journey is never done
Monica didn't start out where she is now. She's moved roles, moved companies, and even moved states. But when she found Bally's, she discovered an opportunity to do more than she ever imagined possible.
And to anyone thinking about their own career, she'd remind them that "where you start is not where you end, and it's not always a straight path. I owned my own business, worked in insurance, worked in sales. All of those things have helped me get to where I am. Make sure you collect the good traits and skills along the way and use them to make whatever you're doing better."
